Privacy Policy

Muto is designed to process supported files locally on your device. It does not require an account and does not upload user files to Muto-operated servers.

Purpose

Muto is a local file conversion extension. Its purpose is to let users convert supported files directly in the browser.

Data Collection

Muto does not collect personal information. Muto does not require an account. Muto does not transmit user-selected files to external servers. Muto does not sell, share, or transfer user data to third parties.

Local Processing

When a user selects or drops a file into Muto, the file is processed locally on the user's device in order to create the requested converted file. The converted file is provided to the user as a browser download. Muto does not store converted files on external servers.

Data Retention

Muto does not retain user files on external servers because Muto does not operate external file-processing servers. Any local history, settings, presets, or temporary processing data supported by the extension remains on the user's device and can be cleared by the user.

Remote Code, Analytics and Advertising

Muto does not use remote executable code for core conversion functionality, analytics trackers, advertising trackers, or third-party file-processing services. Required libraries are packaged with the extension.

Changes

If this policy changes in the future, this page and the Chrome Web Store disclosure will be updated before new data practices are introduced.
